The Science of Living Infrastructure

Bricks and Pucks are available as 3 species: Summer Oyster, Turkey Tail, and Reishi. Each species brings a unique strength to the field—Oyster aggressively breaks down hydrocarbons, Turkey Tail’s enzymes dismantle complex "forever chemicals," and Reishi provides a dense, woody matrix for superior heavy metal capture.

We use a low-energy, Ambient Curing process to air-dry our bricks and pucks in a controlled shed environment. This transition from living to dormant creates the "Sea Monkey Effect": the mycelium enters a state of biological suspended animation.

Science shows that even in this dried state, the units work instantly. Through passive biosorption, the chitinous cell walls act as molecular magnets, trapping toxins on contact. However, the real magic happens upon deployment. When introduced to a waterway or land, moisture triggers a reanimation cycle. The dormant hyphae "wake up," reinvigorating the unit into an active, breathing filter that digests pollutants. By combining the immediate filtration of biochar with this reactivatable biological core, we’ve created a "plug-and-play" solution for ecological restoration that is as resilient as nature itself.
